CHRONICLES OF A CITIZEN ENGAGEMENT - Everyday Heroes of Biodiversity

Protected forests, preserved ecosystems, more sustainable fishing practices, new opportunities for local communities…

But behind every project are committed women and men: “everyday champions” who, often with limited resources, are making a tangible contribution to protecting their environment and improving the living conditions of their communities.

We chose to believe in the potential of these champions, in their projects, and in the power of collective action.

This book tells their stories, their challenges and their successes, through 20 initiatives supported by Ecofund in 5 West and North African countries and in Europe.

We wanted to preserve a record of these experiences and share these stories with future generations, schools, universities, and everyone interested in biodiversity and sustainable development.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has contributed to this journey and, above all, to the local actors who are its true protagonists.

This book is a tribute, but also a lasting call to vibrant civic engagement.
